Associated Learning Standard(s): The resource may be generally applicable, if so, simply state that. List any ISTE-S standards that
seem to naturally align with the selected resource.
This resource is generally applicable, especially because it has a lot of useful templates that can fulfill many
different standards. The specific reflection note that I chose, aligns really well with the ISTE Empowered
Learner standard. ISTE-S 1a: Students articulate and set personal learning goals, develop strategies
leveraging technology to achieve them and reflect on the learning process itself to improve learning
outcomes. This template would help students have a guided reflection at the end of the day so that they can
keep track of their goals and learn how to self evaluate.

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
Evernote seems to be very resourceful, there are a lot of different templates for a variety of different
topics/areas of need. They have an essay planning template, calendars and reflection templates. I chose one
of the reflection templates; this template is set up pretty simply, it is relatively user friendly, I just had to
look around and play with the different areas to find what I needed. They do give templates but I was able
to edit the template, add/remove questions or boxes. This resource is essentially a worksheet creator, but it
is really beneficial to have the templates already figured out and set up.

INTEGRATION IDEA - PORTFOLIOS

How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote student-centered learning?
The essay planning tool can easily be implemented in an English and any classroom really, because students
can tweak the planning templates to help them for any big assignments. The reflection templates are also
really good to use in any classroom. The templates can be used for homework or during class time. From
what I explored, it really did just seemed like a worksheet maker, which is great for teachers who need help,
but not so much for those who like to create their own. I would want my students to have a guided
reflection at least once a week so that they can self-assess and practice introspection. This would help them
become better learners and know what they need to do in order to be successful.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
● Based on the “value-added rating scale” above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
● Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

I would give this resource a 2 because it does seem really useful, especially for newer teachers. I know I
would not be the best at making worksheets so just having a tool that has it set it up already with a variety
of different uses is incredibly helpful. Specifically the reflection template, I think this one would really help
students and I know that there are other reflection options, which is why I don’t think this tool can really
make or break a lesson but it is a helpful resource that offers various ideas and help.
