Predictive Analysis of Workers Job Performance of DPWH in Iligan City

Abstract: Work performance has been identified as the significant key for organizations to
gain competitive advantage and superior productivity. This study determines the job
performance of workers at the DPWH in Iligan City.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is one of the three departments of the
government undertaking major infrastructure projects. The DPWH is mandated to undertake the
planning of infrastructures, such as national roads and bridges, flood control, water resources
projects and other public works, and the design, construction, and maintenance of national
roads and bridges, and major flood control systems. DPWH in Iligan City deals with a large
number of workers (refers to contractual and job order employees) who are the major
contributor to this government agency.

Workers performance is considered as the measures of the quality of human capital, which
was held by the organization and is a key thrust in the development agenda. According to
Churchill (2007), the determinants of performance are personal, professional, organizational,
environmental, motivation, skill level, aptitudes and role perceptions.
