AgVa Ventilator
Information Brochure

2 million lives are lost every year in India,

due to lack of a ventilator

According to WHO 2012 India statistical profile

About AgVa Ventilator

Ventilator for
AgVa ventilators are designed to be a complete ICU
ventilator which is small, economical and easy to use.

places where The primary focus of the ventilator is to provide
mechanical ventilation for everyone in need. Its small
ventilation was package ensures easy storage and transportation,
whereas its intuitive user interface makes it extremely
unimaginable easy to use even for a non trained person. Finally due to
its phenomenally low cost and no need for
infrastructure requirement makes it ideal for scaling up
the ICU

How it works

Advanced Due to the cutting edge research and advanced manufacturing

technologies we have been able to make a ventilator that is way
advanced than any comparable ventilator yet being a fraction of
Reliable the cost.

and Safe AgVa Ventilators combines the state of the art flow, pressure and
oxygen sensor to precisely and reliably calculate the air going to
the patient. With the advanced algorithms it makes sure that the
device is always working and the patient safety is safeguarded
against any failures.

All of this is ensure while having the familiar modes and control
laws so that no additional training is required to run it. The user
interface is made extremely simple and intuitive hence
controlling it is as simple as controlling your smartphones

Low Pressure The amount of the oxygen can be controlled using an

independent flowmeter. The ventilator comes with
Source Oxygen sensor hence you can monitor the FiO2 in
realtime.

Patient Connection

Endotracheal Tube

The most common way of ventilation under emergency situation. Our ventilator can be
connected to the patient using Endotracheal tube for short term ventilation.

Tracheostomy Tube

Our ventilator can also be connected to patients with Tracheostomy. Simply connect the
universal airway tube to the ventilator and the ventilator would be ready to work.

BiPAP/CPAP Mask

Our ventilator can also ventilate patients using non-invasive methods such as CPAP and BiPAP
masks.

Modes of Ventilation

Volume Modes

In all the volume mode the ventilator would start to provide volume with a minimal pressure to
test lung compliance. Post that the pressure would increase with every breath in order to reach
the minimum set volume. During this time low volume alarm might be displayed. Over the
course the pressure would continuously vary to have the minimum set pressure being delivered
to achieve the desired volume

VC-CMV In Volume Controlled-Continuous Mandatory Ventilation

the patient receives a set tidal volume with every breath.
This mode is time cycled based based on respiratory
Volume Controlled - rate (RR) and Inspiration time (PInsp). The patient is not
Continuous Mandatory allowed to have spontaneous breath. The set
Respiratory rate is always maintained during this mode

Ventilation

In Volume Controlled-Synchronised Intermittent

VC-SIMV
Mandatory Ventilation the breath is triggered by the
patient and is synchronised with the breathing pattern

Volume Controlled - of the patient. During patient triggered breath the

patients controls the Peak inspiratory pressure and the
Synchronous Tidal Volume being delivered in that cycle. When the

Intermittent patient fails to trigger the breath in the trigger window

defined by I:E Ratio and Respiratory rate then, a set
Mandatory volume is delivered to the patient with minimum
Ventilation pressure required to achieve that volume based on the
lung compliance.

Pressure Modes

In all the pressure modes a user defined plateau pressure would be applied by the turbine for
every breath. The peak pressure is also set by the user. Post reaching that pressure the
ventilator switches from inhale to exhale phase. The Volume during this mode is a function of
lung capacity, compliance and the plateau pressure being applied

PC-CMV
In Pressure Controlled-Continuous Mandatory
Ventilation the patient receives inhalation air till the time
Pressure Controlled - the lungs don't reach a peak inspiratory pressure (PInsp).
This mode is time cycled based on respiratory rate (RR).
Continuous Mandatory
The patient is not allowed to have spontaneous breath.

Ventilation

PC-SIMV In Pressure Controlled-Synchronised Intermittent

Mandatory Ventilation the breath is triggered by the
patient and is synchronised with the breathing pattern

Pressure Controlled - of the patient. During patient triggered breath the

patients controls the Peak inspiratory pressure and the
Synchronous Tidal Volume being delivered in that cycle. When the
Intermittent Mandatory patient fails to trigger the breath in the trigger window
defined by I:E Ratio and Respiratory rate then, a set
Ventilation pressure is delivered to the patient
Hybrid Modes

In all the pressure modes a user defined plateau pressure would be applied by the turbine for
every breath. The peak pressure is also set by the user. Post reaching that pressure the
ventilator switches from inhale to exhale phase. The Volume during this mode is a function of
lung capacity, compliance and the plateau pressure being applied

In pressure regulated volume control mode the

PRVC
inspiration is triggered by the patient and the

inspiration cycle is continued till the time the set

Pressure Regulated volume or pressure is not achieved. Minimum user

defined pressure is delivered if the volume is not
Volume Controlled reached at this pressure then the pressure is
gradually increased to achieve the desired volume.
Backup breaths are initiated to maintain minimum
respiratory rate when the patient does not breathe
spontaneously.

In assist control mode the set tidal volume is

ACV
delivered with minimum pressure decided by the

machine based on lung compliance. This pressure

Assist
always stays below the peak inspiratory pressure. In

this mode the breath are patient triggered and
Controlled
volume cycled. For every breath the ventilator will

Ventilation deliver the set volume irrespective of the trigger.

Backup respiratory rate is always maintained.

In pressure support ventilation both the pressure

PSV
and the volume is controlled by the patient. The

inhalation is triggered by patient. The inhalation is

Pressure Support stopped when the flow reaches 25% of the peak
flow during inspiration. If patient does not trigger
Ventilation the breath then apnea ventilation is initiated to
maintain the set respiratory rate.

Non- Invasive Modes

The non-invasive modes can be used using a standard circuit along with a ventilator Non-
Invasive BPAP Mask.

CPAP
In this mode a continuous pressure is maintained at the

patient end during both the inspiration and expiration
Continuous Positive phase.
Airway Pressure

During this mode the system maintains a set minimum

BiPAP
airway pressure during exhalation phase and increases
Bilevel Positive the pressure during inhalation phase. Both the

Airway Pressure pressures can be set and adjusted by the user as per his
requirements.

Safety

Parallel Computers

We have incorporated dual computers. Each computer watches each other's activities. In case any
one of these fails, the other micro controller detects it and restarts the system along with delivering a
warning to the user

Android Monitoring

The android tablet used to control the ventilator parallel monitors the parameters of the ventilator
and raises an alarm as soon as the ventilator malfunctions

Power Backup

It comes with an inbuilt Lithium-ion battery which can deliver adequate power to the ventilator for
upto 4 Hours, providing more than ample time to switch over.

Control

An Android
The entire ventilator can be controlled through a freely
available android mobile application.

App for all Through this application the user can set and monitor all
the accessible information of the ventilator. It is
your needs extremely easy to use and can be operated by anyone.

AgVa Advanced

This ventilator is our most advanced ventilator. It packs all the

Everything that modes of ventilation with 24 hour operation capability. It can

a Hospital deliver higher FiO2 if connected to an external Oxygen source

with continuous Oxygen monitoring.
