III. Introduction
In today’s age, it’s not uncommon to see CCTV cameras situated on every corner of
every building in commercial areas and is used by almost every business to protect their
properties. It can help in ways such as being able to monitor the people entering, exiting, and
having transactions within a company’s property. Customers entering a shop that knows they are
being filmed are significantly less likely to steal. It can spot accidents as they happen and can
alert the security and authority in the area.
Wireless CCTV systems have an advantage over wired ones in these ways. First is that
since it is wireless, the system won’t be disrupted or destroyed when their wirings are cut-off.
You may also need to drill holes in the walls and get some mounting kit when installing wired
security cameras. Second is that wireless cameras come with an increased amount of flexibility
since the lack of wires allows camera placement in nearly any desired location. It can also be
programmed to a range of settings and physically move them to a different location without
dealing with wires. Having a wired camera restricts surveillance locations and is forced to be
placed in the easy to reach spots for cables and other equipment regardless of whether or not
these areas are suitable for surveillance devices. Thirdly, most wireless surveillance systems can
save data directly to the internet or cloud, which helps record keeping safe. Lastly, it can situate
the receiver 700ft to ten miles from the main camera and still pick it up, with total distance
depending on the type of camera. The signal also has the ability to infiltrate up to eight walls,
which includes going through solid objects such as metal, wood, plastic, and glass.
