Sostituzione di accordi IIm7 V7  II7 V7

Today you continue your study of chord subs this month by learning about the II7
sub.

The theory behind this sub is pretty straightforward compare to other chord subs.

Here, when you have a ii-V progression, you play II7-V7 instead.

So, you replace the iim7 chord with a II7 chord, such as replacing Dm7 with D7 in
the key of C major.

Because the II7 is also the V7/V7 chord, a secondary dominant, it leads smoothly to
the V7 chord.

This means that D7 is the V7 of G7, so D7-G7-Cmaj7 is a strong resolution.

Now that you know what the II7 sub is, time to take it to the fretboard.

Here are the goals for each level of development.

Level 1 - Play the patterns with a metronome at any tempo.

Level 2 - Play the patterns over the backing track.

Level 3 - Solo with one or more positions of these patterns with the backing track.
