He said the ministry has also uploaded a set of guidelines for parents on basic parenting skills such as how parents can cornmunicate with their children in order to better guide them to be well-rounded and balanced individuals in the future. Besides, the ministry has also uploaded a set of guidelines for parents on basic parenting skills in a toolkit, which provides information on how parents can provide a conducive learning environment at home, how to interact and communicate with their children and how they can lend support to their children in order to achieve holistic excellence. More than 40,000 copies of the toolkit have been distributed to schools nationwide to raise parental awareness of their children’s educational performance. "We want our schools, with the help of parents and the community to nurture more leaders who are not only able to think outside the box but are innovative as well,” he added. Besides, the private sector could also play a greater role in the education system. “We acknowledge the initiative and generosity shown by the private sector in Malaysia in providing private scholarships. These scholarships enable high performing, deserving students to access quality education and achieve their full potential,” he said ‘These measures are part of the Malaysia Education Blue-print 2013- 2025 under the Government Transformation Programme, which has thus far showed significant progress. The blueprint, which was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak last year, has showed improvement, especially in terms of efficacy among teachers and learners.
