I. WEEKLY
OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard Demonstrates understanding of key concepts of
circles and coordinate geometry.

B. Performance Standard The learner be able to formulate and solve problems

involving geometric figures on the rectangular
coordinate plane with perseverance and accuracy.

C. Learning M10GE-IIg-2
Competencies/Objectives Applies the distance formula to prove some
geometric properties.

D. Specific Objectives Knowledge: the students must have to define the

distance formula.
Skill: the students must have to solve problems
involving distance formula.
Attitude: the student must have to showcase
accuracy in solving problems involving distance
formula.
II. Content

 Distance Formula is a useful tool for finding the distance between two points.
The formula itself is actually derived from the Pythagorean Theorem. That's
why we can claim that this formula is simply the Pythagorean Theorem in
disguise.

Formula:
III. Learning Resources
 Graphing paper
 Whiteboard Marker

IV. Procedures
Teachers Activity Students’ Activity
Pre-Activity:
 Prayer  Student Pray
 Checking of Attendance  Says Present or Absent
 Checking of Assignment  Answers are posted on the board
 The teacher will review basic  Student listen
theorems about angles, and
transversals

Drill: Students Answer

Addition 2+2= 4
Subtraction 8-3= 5
Multiplication 4*5= 20
Square Root √16 4

Review: Plot the points

Motivation: Sino ang pipiliin

Presentation:
The teacher will have a short discussion The students will listen and cooperate.
about the distance formula and how to
solve it.

Activity:
The teacher will give a graphing paper, The students will solve the given points
each student will solve and answer the and decide if who they would choose.
distance formula through given points.

Graph and Solve the distance from “Ako”

to “Mahal Ko” and “Ako” to “Mahal Ako”
using distance formula.
Mahal Ko: (5,9)
Ako: (2,4)
Mahal Ako: (6,8)
Analysis:
What formula we use to solve the distance?
Is their accuracy in solving the distance of 2
points? The students answer yes.

Abstraction:
The student will answer to where closes
Where can you use the distance formula? place.

Application:
Wakanda wants to buy bread, so there are 2
bakeshop in their place. “Tinapay ng
Bayan” is located at (5,4) and “Bogrong
Bakeshop” located at (9,8), Wakanda house
is located at (3,1). Which bakery is closest
to Wakanda house?
Assessment:
The students will answer the quiz
1. You’re given the two points (–2,
1) and (1, 5), and they want you to
find out how far apart they are.
2. Find the distance between the
points (–2, –3) and (–4, 4).

Assignment: The students will the assignment
