Scope and Delimitation

This study focuses on the production of bioplastic through extraction of starch from
banana fruit and potato peelings. The main idea of the study was to determine its efficacy. This
study will focus on the production of bioplastic using starch from Banana and potato peels. This
includes the collecting of banana and potato peels, extraction, production of the bioplastic,
testing the properties, gathering and analysis of data and finally, arriving at the conclusions. The
researchers are concerned whether the starch from the banana and potato can be used to produce
a biodegradable plastic and also the researchers will make a comparative analysis between the
biodegradable plastic made from banana peel, potato peel, and the biodegradable plastic made
from corn starch with their degradability, elasticity, and efficiency.

Significance of the Study

In various ways, every study has its own importance and implications. Pursuing this
study will serve and give the readers a number of purposes. The researchers believe that this
study will benefit the following:

a. To the consumers: This research will benefit the consumers in lessening the expenses
they are experiencing due to buying plastic bags.
b. To the community: This research will also be significant to the whole scientific
community since it would provide added information about how to make a good,
environment-friendly, inexpensive and toxic-free bioplastic from Banana and Potato
starch.
c. To the environment: This research will be beneficial to make our environment remain
healthy. It tends to be way to anticipate any harm on our surroundings.
d. To the future researchers: This research can also serve as a springboard for future
researches who want to develop safe and cost effective bioplastics.
