Introduction

A meat market is traditionally, a market place where meat is sold, often by

butcher. It is a specialized wet market. The term is sometimes used to refer to a

meat retail store or butchers shop. A butcher specializes in the preparation and

sale of meat. Butchers sometimes operate specialized shops selling meat, known

as butchers shops, meat stores, meat markets or butcheries.

In our daily lives we eat three times a day. One of our foods that we eat is

meat and buys it to the market. We are particular in choosing a good and fresh

meat. Aside from it, we make sure that the surrounding and the station where the

meat place is clean.

People now a day refer to buy some meat in a cheaper price that can fit their

budget. And one of the place that we can buy a cheaper and fresh meat is in

Langihan Market Butuan City. Aside from they can choose the meat they want

they can also ask to lessen the price. They can also request to the butcher on

what cuts they wanted to.

In this situation, there are also circumstances that meat vendor’s sells

double-dead meat or it’s not fresh. And some of them didn’t apply sanitary

practices to their business area. It might be the reason why some of the

customers are getting sick after eating those meats.


The aim of this study is to determine the number of meat vendors in

Langihan, applying sanitary practices. And what kind of sanitary practices they

applied and how the sanitary practices did affects to the customers. And if the

utilities that they are using were sanitized.

Statement of the Problem

The purpose of this study is to determine the numbers of meat vendor who

are applying sanitary practices that can affect to the customers.

1. What is the profile of the meat vendors?

a. Sex

b. Age

2. What are the effects of those meat vendors who are applying sanitary

practices to their customers?

a. Customers satisfaction

b. To the business

3. What kind of sanitary practices they applied?


Significance of the Study

This study will be use to many people who may want to know the numbers of

meat vendors in Langihan who are applying sanitary practices and its affect to

the customers.

Meat Vendors. Who are the main focuses of the study will know how many meat

vendors selling meat in

Langihan.

Customers. They will be given information or idea who are those meat vendors

who are applying sanitary practices.

Department of Health (DOH). They will give awareness who are those meat

vendors who are not applying sanitary practices so that they can give an action

to those who are abiding the rules.

Future Researchers. It will serve them as a guide to know the different meat

vendors who applied sanitary practices. In addition, for them to aware the good

benefits in applying proper hygiene.


Scope and Limitation

The coverage of this study is for the meat vendors in Langihan Market

Butuan City. Who are applying sanitary practices and its affects to the customers.

The overall respondents are 25 meat vendors in Langihan Market Butuan City.

Definition of Terms

Meat vendors- sometimes called as “butchers” is the person who may

slaughther animals, dress their flesh , sell their meat.

Sanitary Practices- refers more specially to conditions effecting health or

measures for guarding against infection or disease: to insure sanitary conditions

in.

Methodology

This represents the Locale of the study, the number of respondents, the

research environment, the research instrument and the procedures and the

statistical treatment of data. The study focuses and determining the number of

meat vendors in Langihan: Applying sanitary practices.


Research Design

The research will be undertaken as quantitative research. It will consist of

one-to-one interviews and given survey questionnaires with the meat vendors

and customers in Langihan Market. The data from the interviews and

questionnaire will be generated as a result of the interviewer taking a

hermeneutic phenomenological approach to the research that we can gather

information about this research topic.

Research Locale

The researchers conducted the study in Langihan Market Butuan City. It is

one of the public market in the City. Will where the specific location of the

researchers to perform their data gathering.

Research Respondents

The respondent of our research is The Meat Vendors and their customers

in Langihan who are applying the sanitary practices.. There are 25 meat

vendors and 25 selected customers in Langihan Public Market. To the total of 50

respondents.
Research Instrument

The researchers used survey questionnaire as their instrument of their

research. In this case, it is easier for the researchers to get the answers of the

respondents.

Data Gathering Procedures

First the researchers conduct a survey questionnaire if who are among the

meat vendors in Langihan who are applying sanitary practices. Second they had

begun to conduct a one-to-one interview with the customers of the meat vendors

through a phenomenological approach. After, the data gathered were tallied and

analyzed or interpret.
