The Nature of Casual Sex in College Students in the Philippines

Description of the Project

1. Rationale

Many of our elders still believe that sex should be done before marriage
and with your husband or partner alone. But over the last few decades,
new generations come to adopt the culture of western countries who were
more liberated specially when it comes to casual sex.

Although there were already studies that were conducted about casual
sex, this research study aims to explore and gather more information
about causal sex of college students in Digos City, Davao del sur and to
gain more insights on the different reasons on why college students
engage into it.

2. Objectives of the Study

2.1.General

This research study will be undertaken to identify the circumstances


associated with casual sex encounters, as well as to identify the link
between casual sex and depressive symptoms in college students in the
Philippines particularly in Digos City, Davao del sur.

2.2.Specific

This research study aims to answer the following questions and concerns:
1. What are the different circumstances that leads students to engage
in casual sex?
2. Do students who are depressed are likely more to engage in casual
sex?
3. Is there any significant relationship between poor mental health and
casual sex?
