The actives and the passives

 make sb do sth vs be made to do sth

active vs passive
eg. The principal made the students retake the test due to their
cheating
The students were made to retake the test due to their
cheating
 Force sb to do sth / be forced to do sth
eg. A flash flood forced the local authorities to order evacuation
The local authorities were forced to order the evacuation of the
seaside town because of a flash flood

 Let sb do sth (only active voice)

eg.I’m in the doghouse lately.My mother has me grounded and
doesn’t let me leave my room

In passive voice we replace let with be allowed to

eg. I’m not allowed to leave my room ever since my mother got
me grounded.
