For my entire life I have been reading different forms of comics.

From the genre of

comics, to the country of origin there are a vast amount of approaches to their designs. My
experience with the medium is my research. I feel like there could be a lot of interesting things
to discuss regarding the various forms of comics.

Questions: (styles mean: manga, western/American comics, graphic novels, etc)

- What are distinct art style differences between styles

- What are the differences between panel layout/design
- Are there any distinct differences in storytelling methods?

Growing up I would read every single day, may it be a book, or something from my
father's collection of comic books he collected growing up. I eventually also started to start my
own collection. My favorites being Pokemon manga, Sonic the Hedgehog, and the Bone series.
Once I started middle school I started to read webcomics. Then in the 7th grade once I started
getting into anime I also started to pick up various manga series. Now here I am today, reading
150+ series.

My next steps are to really analyze these various series and note similarities and
differences. There are a lot of things to talk about in Asia. There is Manga which is from Japan,
Manhua which is from China, and Manhwa which is from Korea. This isn’t even accounting for
all the various forms from America and Europe. Since I am most interesting and knowledgeable
on modern Asian and western styles that is what I plan to focus on.
