Globalization and its Asymmetries

Global governance structures and rules are

characterized by severe asymme-tries. There are marked
asymmetries of access to the various decision-making
processes, with developing countries having to abide by
and/or shoulder the effects of rules and regulations over
which they have limited influ-ence.
Asymmetries in both decision-making and various
processes related to global governance have important
implications for asymmetries of outcomes. The current global
governance structure also reflects the asymmetric character or
the unbalanced nature of globalization.
