INFORMATION

The undersigned Assistant City Prosecutor accuses

Claudia Buenavista of the crime of “Parricide”, as
defined under Article 246 of the Revised Penal Code,
committed as follows:

That sometime on August 23, 2018, at on or

about 5:00 PM, in the City of Cebu, Province
of Cebu, Philippines, and within the
jurisdiction of the Honorable Court, the
above-named accused, while armed with a .38
caliber pistol with serial number 0254664,
shot one Amor Powers-Buenavista, her mother,
willfully, unlawfully and feloniously by then
and there firing several shots at the latter’s
temple and left portion of the chest; that
said injuries caused the instantaneous death
of said Amor Powers-Buenavista.

conducted in this case; that I examined the complaint
and testimonies presented; that the undersigned finds
that probable cause exists to establish the offense of
Parricide under Article 246 of the Revised Penal Code
against the accused; that the accused was informed of
the Complaint and of the evidence submitted against her
and was given the opportunity to submit controverting
evidence; and that the filing of this Information is
with prior authority and approval of the City
Prosecutor.
