Governor-GeneralBustamante - The
husband of Doña Luisa.He was also the one who
was assassinated by Fray Totanes and the
priests.

Doña Luisa - She was the wife of Governor-

General Bustamante.She was alsothe Black She-
wolf(La Loba Negra).

Dolores - The daughter of Governor-General

Bustamante and Doña Luisa.

Fray Totanes - The one who plotted the

assassination of Governor-General Bustamante.

Torralba - the one who collected taxes from

various merchants to get their trades
permanent.
Jose - Governor-General Bustamante and
Doña Luisa ‘s son.

Macatangay -- A servant who also became a

rebel leader who joined forces with La
LobaNegra.
 Synopsis

La Loba Negra is a Filipino Opera which

have a three-act. The story goes about the
Governor General Bustamante. Gov. Gen.
Bustamante received an order from King
Phillip V of Spain to Organize and manage
Philippines Taxes. He refuses to kiss the
hand of a Friar which become the start of
the conflict and worsen by his strict
governance and following the king's Order.
It leads to his death.

Maria angrily talks to a priest about his

pretentiousness being a man of God. Slaps
him. The Curate rapes her daughter and
decides to kill him. Maria becomes the
leader of the natives' abuse by the church.
From then the Black She-wolf(La Loba
Negra) become famous for killing many
Priests. However the reign of the black she-
wolf ended. She got killed. Maria who is the
La Lobanegra is Dona Luisa wife of Gov.
Gen. Bustamante. It also reveals that the
priest also killed their sons. Dolores their
oldest daughter marrySandugo. She also
follow the steps of her mother.
 Moral Lesson
The moral lesson of the story is revenge is not
a good thing to do.It’s better to just let the ones
who are capable of giving judgement do the
work.Because if you killed someone because of
revenge,then you are no different from the
person you want to have your revenge.

Theme
The opera La Loba Negra is all about the
revenge of Doña Luisa to the friars.She wants
to avenge her husband and her son because
she loves them.So the theme of the opera is
Revenge and Love.
