Family

Hello everyone, my name is Le Phuong Ngan, I’m from class 8A, PDP secondary
school. Today, I’m so happy and excited to stand here, in front of you guys, and
talk about a really interesting topic. This topic is about the people who gave birth
to us, brought us up till now and teach us useful things. Can anyone guess what it
is? Oh, that’s right! It’s about family. So, now I will tell you some activities that
my family enjoys doing the most.

In spite of our busy schedules, we always try to get as much quality time as
possible with each other. And I always appreciate and respect every single moment
we are side by side. Luckily, all of us are big fans of travelling, so we often go new
places and try new things on vacation time. We’ve travelled to Hanoi, Ho Chi
Minh city, Quang Nam and many others cities in Viet Nam. Therefore, I have the
opportunity to try out the specialities of each place and make many more friends
outside Dong Ha. But the trip to Da Nang has left me an unforgettable memory. I
remember that it was in 2015, my family and I went to Da Nang to see the
international firework contest. We arrived 2 days earlier, so that we can spend time
doing other great activities there. We stayed in an incredibly nice resort, I could go
swimming all the time, ate so many kinds of tasty food and met people from all
kinds of places, different culture in the world. And then we drove to the place
where we had booked to see the fireworks. The fireworks…. just two words:
absolutely outstanding. Everything was so pink, so wonderful and fantastic.. until
we came back. I told you guys that we came there ourselves, but actually we
caught a taxi. Because it was nearly 1am there, there was no taxi left. Haizz, and
you know what? My family, 4 people holding hands walking on the crowded
street. When we were walking, my mother asked me to put my hands on dad’s
pocket as she supposed that the pickpockets would make use of this situation to
steal our money. I was speechless… After passing halfway of the route, we had to
stop to have a rest because we were all really tired. In the end, we finally caught
two motorbike-taxi to come back. Although we all felt really exhausted, we still
smiled and laughed happily all the way back our room. And thanks to these
vacations, I can learn and experience many new things, especially I know what
“Travelling forms a young man” is and the most important thing is that I can feel
the love of my family.
In addition to travelling, my family also stays in Dong Ha like other family.
Sometimes, my mom or my dad doesn’t eat at home for they need to meet their
business partner. Thus, there are only few days for us to have a big dinner. But if
we are together, we will cook so many tasty dish, eat and watch TV at the same
time. Then I will tell my parents about what has happened on that day, and my
parents will sometimes give a comment on my story. My elder sister studies at
Hanoi Medical University, way far from us, so whenever I have free time, I always
call her and face time with her. And when we face time, my parents often join us,
too. They usually eat and make hilarious face in front of her(actually there’s only
me). My sister usually tells us what she did, how she felt on that day. It feels like
we’re united despite distance barriers. So great!

And how can I forget the New Year’s Eve? This occasion is the best thing that ever
be in the world. My family can gather in the living room after day by day calling
and missing. We say all kinds of things in the world, watch Kitchen God show,
actually it’s Tao Quan in Vietnamese. After worshipping the ancestors, we always
heat the food again and eat together. Another thing that I like is I can receive lucky
money from my parents. Family always brings me a sense of peace, warmth and
love.

In my opinion, our family can’t live forever with us, there will be time that you
married, have your own family. You just can live with your family in the early 18
years. Every member in the family should be responsible for each other, don’t be a
workaholic, but spend time with family. So that, we will get closer, understand
more about each member. And do relax sometimes, go for a picnic, travel to some
beautiful cities, countries around you. I do believe that you’ll find your own
happiness in your family.
