ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

It is real pleasure to remind of those personalities who have immensely helped

me throughout engineering curriculum both in theoretical and practical ways .

I profoundly thank Dr. Dipankar Chakraborty, Head of the Department of

CIVIL Engineering at Jadavpur University, who has been an excellent guide
and also a great source of inspiration to my work.
I would like to special thank my internal guide & Prof. K.K. Mondal for his
technical guidance, constant encouragement and support in carrying out
my training at Jadavpur University.

With deep gratitude, I am very thankful to Executive Engineer Mr. Vishnu

Kumar at Public Health Engineering Department, Bikaner for permitting
my practical training at Project Divison-01& for giving me the technical
data and drawing which enabled us to understand the work under
construction in effective manner & thanking all the employees of P.H.E.D.
Bikaner for displaying an extremely sound professional work-culture to
make my industry experience a memorable one.

The satisfaction and euphoria that accompany the successful completion of

the task would be great but incomplete without the mention of Prof. K.S.
Grover& Prof. B.P. Suneja & Prof. Sohil Sisodiya and all the class teachers
as well as technical assistants, whose academic lessons, teaching &
encouragement gave potential to me for completing this internship.

I am thankful to My Institute as well as Training and placement department

of College for providing the Golden Opportunity of Internship to me at
These Organisations.

PREFACE

Practical knowledge means the visualization of the knowledge, which we read in

our books. For this we perform experiments and get observations. Practical
knowledge is very important in every field. One must be familiar with the
problems related to that field so that he may solve them and become a successful
person.

After achieving the proper goal in life, an engineer has to enter in the
professional life. According to this life, he has to serve industry, may be public
or private sector or self-own. For the efficient work in the field, he must be well
aware of the practical knowledge as well as theoretical knowledge.

To be a good engineer, one must be aware of the industrial environment and

must know about management, working in the industry, etc. so he can tackle
them successfully.

Due to all the above reasons and to bridge the gap between theory and practical,
our engineering curriculum provides a practical training of 60 days. During this
period, a student works in the industry and gets all types of experience and
knowledge about the working and m maintenance of various types of machinery
and constructions.
I completed my summer internship at Jadavpur University, West Bengal & at
P.H.E.D. Bikaner This Internship Report is based on, which I performed after
completion of 60 Days at Jadavpur University & P.H.E.D. Bikaner.

My field of Internship at J.U. was structural analysis due to lateral loads on

buildings. My guide was Associate Professor K.K. Mondal Whom I assisted &
followed relevantly.
My field of Internship at P.H.E.D. Bikaner was Study of working of water
treatment Plant. My Guide was Assistant Engineer Rajesh Chaudhary Whom I
assisted & followed relevantly.

This report contained experiences and knowledge which I gathered during my

Summer Internship from May 28th to July 30th 2019.
