Letter of excuse due to throat problems, and death

of a relative

Please accept this excuse letter as a formal apology for my son’s absence from school on November 27,
Thursday. He’s having a hard time of going to school with a swollen throat, and so I had to excuse him
from school during that day. Other than that, he had to take his leave to attend on funeral. I deeply
apologize but, I won’t be able to hand out my son any certificates as proof of his absence, instead these
certificates will be used for a more important cause other than his presence.
