Lungs: Adequate airflow bilat
The patient has arthritis to the proximal interphalangeal joint of the left long
finger
She wished to proceed with the cortisone shot
Procedure
The patient has inflammation, likely arthritic in nature, of the left middle finger
She wished to proceed with a steroid injection
After appropriate consent was obtained, the patient's hand was cleansed with an
alcohol swab. Approximately 1 cc 1% lidocaine plain was injected into PIP joint of
the left middle finger. Following this 1 cc of Kenalog 40 was injected in the
flexor tendon sheath. The patient tolerated the injection well. A Band-Aid was
placed over the injection site.
