Dear Mr.

Batugo,

As a freshman entering leadership I underestimated this class, yet I already knew what to

expect. My initial thoughts were that leadership was going to be simple and similar to my

experience at Mckinley. Clearly, I was wrong. Leadership takes up a lot of time and effort. You

have to give your all twenty-four seven, and show that you are determined to make your mark on

campus. Leadership has opened up my eyes about the real world and how things are not going to

be easy.

Before the school year started my interests were completely different. I was never interested in

taking on a big role on campus until summer. I expected to remain an intern and join sound and

spirit, but my thoughts shifted as I gained more interest in running for class president. Ever since

then I have changed. I took on a big role for my first year in high-school and by doing so I was

introduced to endless amounts of stress. In middle school, I would have never guessed that I

would be freshman class president.

My expectations for the rest of the year is that things are not going to be easy at all. It will be

harder to get above and beyond points and more work will be put on us. As president, I am in

charge of how we are going to play out our performance for winter fest. It will be hard to get

through the rest of the year but I know I could pull through. Leadership is way more work than I

expected, but I am glad that I joined.

Leadership has influenced me to be a hard worker and to express myself through my work. I

have been kept busy these past four months and I have gotten used to working under pressure.

Although winter fest is still a long way to go, I promise you that the freshmen class will do our

best to come up on top. I hope to improve on not only my work ethic but also on myself. I am

excited to see what the rest of the school year will be like.
