Reflection Journal:
- Feel: I felt interesting when I learned the thinking process during, I write an essay or
research. In Korea, almost all students have to search the template their own to turn in the
essay. But if the professor wants a better essay or research paper, then they should help
their students. Learning about the method and comparing the real difference between
vague terms in the class makes me passionate about the course. And I felt proud of
myself. I took the SAT to transfer to US college but still uneducated in writing an English
essay. But I got A on the first connection journal.
- Think: I think the process of learning how to write an essay and research is different
from my country. I haven't learned about how to write an essay and what is the difference
between primary research and secondary research in Korea. Even though the etiquette
and the method of research writing are from America, Koreans do not teach how to write
and construct the essay. All the time when I write an English essay, I realize Korea
should teach about the writing method and improving students' analyzing ability in
reading and writing areas.
- Like: I like the way that the professor taught the process of inquiry using the example of
how to solve the math problem. It was easy to understand the difference between search
and gather. And showing how to apply the process of inquiry in real life helped. And I
like the discussion about the character of the book. In ‘To kill the mockingbird1,’ there is
a various character, and we can analyze the character and predict what happened in part
2. It makes me curious and listening to others’ thoughts about who is bad guys, and who
will be dead is also enjoyable.
- Dislike: I dislike the presentation. First of all, I am not good at speaking English, and that
makes me panic in an accidental presentation. Even though I tried to announce the
presentation, I didn't prepare well and screwed up. And the summary presentation was

not an individual presentation that we don't have much time to discuss and control the
time. Since I didn't read the summary presentation guideline before the presentation, I
missed putting specific examples of other's perspective in the book.

meaning, I thought Tom Robinson might be the
mockingbird of the town. Because Tom Robinson
is the black person in the city and the time of the
book is 1930 that lots of black people killed
sinlessly. Black people lived without harm to
others in the town like mockingbird singing for the
people — however, White people at that time

unconditional love, which is related to 'Agape.'

Atticus might lose in the trial, his effort to clear
Tom’s false charge gives power to black people in
town.
