Recommended parts list for new 4006 engines

This bulletin details the parts and service tools necessary for you to effectively support the new
23 litre 4006-23TAG range. These engines could be arriving in your territory very soon.
Three new turbocharged and air-to-air intercooled models will be available in ElectropaK,
ElectroUnit, or Fan-to-Flywheel specifications, providing power for the Electric Power market
between 650 and 900 kVA. Operators will enjoy an increased level of commonality with the Perkins
4000 Series – in terms of service tools and maintenance parts.

Recommended Parts List

We strongly encourage every distributor to hold the parts detailed in this list in the event of 4006
Series engines arriving in territory. The column titled “Quantity per engine” indicates how many are
needed for an individual engine, and is not a guide for how many parts should be bought for your
whole territory.

you purchase the tool highlighted in the table below.

The following tools will also be available for you to buy in the near future, and will ensure you are
able to continue providing product support excellence:
• Barring over tool
• Injector clamp and fuel feed adapter
• Injector setting tool

How does is work?

The “Dongle” connects the Electronic Digital Control Governor to a lap top computer. Once you
have installed the software you will be able to adjust the Governor settings.
Please note that the "Dongle" is designed to connect only to a serial computer port.

The software also includes the programmes to support the electronically controlled governor fitted
to the 400 series and engines fitted with the LC Governor (versions 1 or 2).
This software has a time out feature that is set to expire in February 2005 and then a new version
will need to be purchased. Please note that the use or sale of this software to your customers is
not restricted.

In order to provide our Distributor network easier access to our suite of support tools and software,
the release of TIPSS 2004 B scheduled for November 2004 will contain all the programmes loaded
onto the CD (Part number 27610278).
