Professional Development

The co-teaching Conference is a conference that goes over exploring collaboration ideas

and skills. It is put on by The Bureau of Education & Research. The conference is a two-day

conference thats goes over what is missing in co-teaching classrooms, how to implement and

practice strategies for explicit instruction, homework that engages the brain and increases

learning in co-teaching classes, a toolkit of strategies for working through difficult co-planning

conversations, a couple of ways to use station teaching to increase student achievement, and

key components every co-teaching lesson needs to include. The sessions are anywhere

between 70-75 minutes long and are available for general education teachers, special education

staff, paraprofessionals, and other specialists who co-teach. Those who attend have the choice

to choose from 21 strategy-packed conference session. There are three different qualified

instructors: Susan Fitzell, Catherine Wilson, and Katy Weber. While attending this conference, I

will get timesaving tips and effective procedures for Co-Planning, new technology resources for

inclusive classrooms, fresh ideas to establish and nurture strong collaborative partnership, and

much more. The conference will be held in Columbus, OH on December 5th through the 6th, at

the Fawcett Center. The cost will be 479.00 per person to attend. Going to this conference will

be beneficial for me because co-teaching is becoming very comment in schools. Being able to

learn in more detail how to co-teach and collaborate with others will enhance and better me

professionally and personally.
