Memoir Reflection

My process for writing this essay was not anything special or complex; I brainstormed a

few narratives I could tell while I was in class, then I created an outline for it, which is

always crappy and I never usually follow them to a “T”, and then I started typing out the

essay. I did not add anything over the top to make the essay seem interesting, but I did leave

out a few bits of information for the privacy of those who cannot tell the story themselves

such as; what the rumor actually was, and what happened after the fight between Cassandra

and I. My approach to the drafting process was to write, write whatever I could remember

and convey it in a way that could paint a picture to the person who was reading it. My

approach to revision was to make sure I did not have any spelling errors and that my sentence

structure made sense. The part of my essay that I am most proud of is the first page I am not

a big fan of expressing who I am to other people, and I think I was able to accurately do that

without holding back too much information. The biggest challenges of writing the essay was;

keeping confidentiality about certain aspects of the story, creating a visual out of something

that is private to me, and learning how to let the essay flow in its own way without losing
sight of the prompt. As I have said before I chose to not speak on parts of what happened

because there are people who cannot tell the story themselves. However, I overcame these

obstacles by giving myself the opportunity to branch out, and not hold back when a part of

the essay took me in a different direction.

 How can you revise this essay to make it even better, or to better suit the goals you
had for it? Be specific.
I would completely take out the last page and rewrite it to make it more detailed and not as
choppy. I would have, in the revision, followed my outline to help me establish a stronger
back bone for the conclusion of my essay.
 How do you feel about your progress in this class so far? Do you have any questions
for me, or is there anything you want me to know?
I think my progress in this class has been good, I would like to think I am doing well in this
class. At the current time I have no questions for you, and I do not have much to say, like
normal.
