Contest Guidelines

Eligibility: Open to active UC - COE students.

Contest Schedule

- the contest will last for 2 hours from the assigned scheduled

- 10: 00 am to 12 nn

Criteria for Determining Participant Scores

Each program should:


1. execute without error, solve the appropriate problem efficiently, and satisfy all the conditions
specified in the problem statement
2. follow good programming style conventions such as avoiding confusing and unnecessary code,
3. be documented with comments and easily understandable variable names, and
4. start with an initial comment that includes a) the year level of the participant, b) the name of the
contestant.

The score assigned to each program will be based upon the extent that the program satisfies the
properties listed above. The total accumulated score for all four programs represents the team score. All
the programs have the same weight in the scoring.

Notes
1) Each contestant may use one programming reference books.
2) You can use more than one computer if you wish.
3) Programs will be written in C, C++ or Java. All programs must execute in less than one minute.
Any program taking longer than this time limit will be terminated and judged incorrect.

Technical Scoring

Judging for this contest will be based on following point system:

i i. Easy Problems:– 10 Points

ii. Average Problems: – 30 Points

iii. Difficult Problem: – 50 Points
