*Note 1 : Non - Transport Vehicles include Motor Cycle with or without side car for personal use, Mopeds, Three
Wheeled vehicles for personal use, Motor Car for personal use etc. and the unladen weight on any Light Motor Vehicle
(LMV) is upto 7,500 kilograms.
*Note 2 : Transport vehicle means a motor vehicle used or adapted to be used for the carriage of passengers for hire or
reward, and includes a maxicab, motorcab, contract carriage, and stage carriage vehicle, a goods carriage, an educational
institution bus or a motor vehicle to carry more than six persons excluding the driver and ordinarily used by or on behalf
of the owner of such vehicle for purpose of carrying persons for, or in connection with, his trade or business otherwise
than for hire or reward. The unladen weight on any Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) is upto 7,500 kilograms. The unladen
weight of Medium Motor Vehicle is over 7500 kilograms and below 12,000 kilograms. The unladen weight of Heavy
Motor vehicle exceeds 12,000 kilograms. [Reference sections 2(7), 2(11) 2(14), 2(22), 2(25) and 2(35), 2(40) of the
Motor Vehicles Act, 1988].
