We had identified four internal capacitances Cgs, Cgd, Csb and Cdb as displayed in the
model shown. (Fig a)
 A Simplified and Pragmatic Model
• Cgd, even though very
small, plays a significant
role in high frequency
analysis. However Cdb can
be dropped resulting in
significant simplification of
manual analysis. (Fig c)

• Manual analysis of such a circuit

will be extremely cumbersome.
However, when the Source is
connected to the Body, the model
becomes tractable. (Fig b)
