OPERATOR MANUAL MVT 660 T ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | STARTER The starter is mounted on the lett side of the engine, and no maintenance is required other than to ensure that the terminals are kept clean and secure, Should the starter not function correctly , contact your dealer, ALTERNATOR The alternator is mounted on the left side of the engine . The alternator and integral regulator are designed to operate in a system which is polarized in one direction only, therefore it is necessary to take the folllowing precautions when working on the battery charging circuit, otherwise serious damage may be caused to the electrical equipment. = Do not operate the alternator with an open circuit, always ensure the connections are secure. - Itis important that the cable terminals at the rear of the alternator are tight when the engine is running otherwise damage will be caused to the alternator. - When installing a battery , ensure that the connections are correcity polarized. It is essential that the cable marked (+) is connected to the positive (+) terminal of the battery, and that the cable marked (-) is connected to the negative (-) terminal on the battery and to earth. - When using a second battery to assist engine starting, always connect terminals of similar polarity (voir fig.A). Any battery used in this way must be of the same voltage as that fitted to the truck. | - When using an external battery charger, always connect the charger positive (+) lead to the positive (+) terminal of the battery, and the negative lead (-) to the negative (-) terminal, and disconnect the battery earth lead. - Never short circuit or connect the alternator terminals to earth. - Never reverse the connections to the alternator terminals. = Do not remove or replace any electrical system connections while engine is running, - When carrying out electrical welding operations on the truck, connect the negative lead from the welding equipment to the part being welded so that high tension current does not pass through the alternator , and disconnect the battery. LIGHTING Ablown bulb must be changed immediately . Do not handle a new bulb with bare or ditty fingers, because any traces of grease , oll or sweat, evapo- rate when the bulb is hot and then stain the reflector. Nover touch or attempt to polish the reflector. Only open the headlamp when changing the bulb. BATTERY The efficiency of the battery is progressively reduced as the ambient temperature falls and ceases to function as of - 40° C (-40° F). Do not attempt to use the starter if the battery has been exposed to temperatures in the order of - 29° C (-20° F) the battery should be warmed betore attempting this by immersing it in warm water up to 5 om below the cell caps, If the temperature is very low , remove the battery from the truck and store in a warm environment until the battery is required for use. \ opana ‘OR MANUAL LEGEND ELECTRICAL EQUIPEMENT ( SYSTEM) Al ~ Electric horn back-up alarm (tab.2) A2 ~ Electric horn (tab.3) Bl ~ Battery 12 Volt (tab.!) cl - Cab connection (tab.2) ce ~ Back-up alarm dashboard connection (tab.3) 3 - Connection (steering wheel control) (tab.3) ca - White connection 21 poles (tab.4) os - Green connection 21 poles (tab.5) ce - Flashing connection (tab.5) i) - Electrovalve (forward gear) (tab.2) E2 - Electrovalve (reverse gear) (tab.2) E3 - Electrovalve stop engine (tab 2) £4 - Electrovalve safety device (tab. 3) al - Alternator (tab. !) 0 - Switch (parking brake) (tab.2) l2 ~ Reversing gear (tab.2) 13 = Intermittence back-up alarm (tab.2) ‘4 ~ Stop switch (stop light) (tab.2) 5 + Tilting switch (tab.3) Ig - Pressure switch (air cleaner) (tab.5) 7 - Pressure switch (low pressure oil engine) (tab.6) ut - Side light switch (tab.4) Mi - Starter motor (tab. 1 ) PI ~ Left rear stop light (tab.2) p2 = Right rear stop light (tab.2) P3 ~ Left front turn indicator (tab.3) P4 ~ Left rear turn indicator (tab.3) PS ~ Right front tum indicator (tab.3) PS ~ Right rear turn indicator (tab.3) P7 - Left headlight (driving beam) (tab.4) Pa ~ Right headlight (driving beam) (tab.4) Po ~ Left headlight (lower beam) (tab.4) P10 - Right headlight (ower beam) (tab.4) PIL + Left side light (tab.4) Pi2 + Left tail light (tab.4) P13 + Right side light (tab.4) P14 ~ Right tail light (tab.4) PIS - Pivotable headlight (tab.5) RA + Starting relay (tab. !) 1 - Water temperature indicator (tab.5) 12 - Fuel gauge (tab.5) TR + Starter (lab.1) KEY - Starting switch (tab.1) MVT 660 T COLOUR A: Azur B: White C: Orange G: Yellow H: Grey L:Blue M: Brown N: Black R: Red S: Pink V: Green Z: Violet Le | OPZRAVOR MANUAL MVT 660 T RA A us ba seve BETRED : i I sae 9 2 waar 6 eo of 3 8 ——i} UI fel a slflé [la] 8 Wt 128 Fejmanitaa Dusan | BOOS MVT 660 T OPRRATOR MANUAL MVT 660 OPRRATOR MANUAL 7 er | aT ow Ga] Sa RATS] Fase Loin | _EMORE sites REG Wee!
