Introduction Letter
My name is Ann Rene’ Cione. I am from Plano, Texas which is about fifteen minutes
from Dallas. I have three older siblings, Julia, Avery, and Luke. Julia lives in Austin and works
for Google. Avery is a first-year law student at Texas Tech University. Luke is a junior at Texas
A&M studying chemical engineering. My dad is general and trauma surgeon and my mom is a
therapist for victims of sexual assault and trauma. So, as you can see, I have very big shoes to
fill. Luckily my parents have pushed me my entire life to give 100% to all aspects.

parents looked for an outlet for me to best utilize it. The found their answer quickly and enrolled
me in my first gymnastics class. I instantly fell in love. The intense drive everyone had, the love
of competition, and I knew I had found where I would thrive. A couple years had gone by and I
enrolled in a part time school to be able to focus my training more. I was spending at least forty
hours in the gym a week as a ten-year-old and I loved every second of it. But one unfortunate
landing on vault stuck me with a broken knee and a broken heart. I had to give up my dream of
becoming an Olympic level gymnast and look for something else to do with my talent and drive
that wasn’t gymnastics. In the meantime, I went back to normal school and attempted to adapt to
my new life. I quickly became very bored; I needed a sport to pour my energy into. Luckily,
once again my parents found an outlet for me: competitive cheerleading. I tried out at one of the
top programs in the nation, Cheer Athletics, and became a member of one of their elite teams. I

was very reluctant at first because as a gymnast I had always looked down on cheerleading. But
my ignorant ideals about the sport were quickly changed and I fell in love. I also was a member
of the spirit and competitive cheer teams at my high school. So, for the last six years I have
cheered on three different teams, won multiple national titles, and placed in the top three at the
Though I have loved every second of the sports I have participated in my life, I choose to
not continue my cheerleading career in college. This baffled many people back home, including
my family. But that did not matter to me, I have gone my whole only being seen for my athletic
ability and I think it is time to be seen for me. Though it is extremely scary, I am very excited for
