Soleá (Simple Falsetas)

by Juan Martín
from Play Solo Flamenco Guitar with Juan Martín

There is much use of the fourth finger of the left hand, to stop the fourth fret
on the third string, playing a ligado at the third fret on the fourth string and
adding an F to the E major chord in the rasgueados near the end to provide a
very flamenco dissonance. The use of the capo facilitates the little finger of
the left hand, reducing its stretch. the piece introduces simple arpeggios with
p, i, and m and also takes your left hand briefly to the third position,
indicates by a III above the notation. In this position the whole hand has
moved upwards two frets, so that the first finger stops the D at the third fret
on the second string. The falsetas are traditional.
