3 MODES OF PRODUCTION
1. Primary Industry
The basic productive activities present in nature that are the source of wealth (Agricultural, Mining
and Fishing etc)
2. Secondary Industry
Production in this sense mean making things which are tangible (i.e. Products) [Manufacturing,
construction, Public utility (products) generation]
3. Tertiary Industry

affects well defined changes in the physical or chemical characteristics of the materials
This definition applies only to produce Tangible goods (products) such as, in manufacturing or
process industries
MORE PRECISELY
“Manufacturing is a series of inter related activities and operations involving the design, material
selection, planning, manufacturing production, quality assurance, management and marketing of the

as Commodities
It is essential to grasp the market needs and reflect (Incorporate) those needs in the production
process
Raw materials are converted into finished product with value added
NOTE:
Proceeds according to the instructions issued from the F.O.I based upon the market needs
The process of producing economic goods, including tangible goods and intangible services, from
resources of production (Production Process / Technical Production), thus creating utility by increasing
the value added (Economical Production)
