Climate Justice in South Asia.

It is with great pleasure PVCHR and Dr. Lenin Raghuvanshi can confirm
the appointment of Ms. Parul Sharma as the organization’s Regional
Executive Director with focus on Climate Justice in Bangladesh, India,
Nepal and Pakistan. Ms. Sharma’s task will be to develop the Bali
Principles of Climate Justice through networks and partnership with
focus on grassroots movements in the region. It is rather clear that those
who have contributed most to the problems have the greatest
responsibility to help resolve them and South Asia is already severely
affected by climate change. Parul Sharma will partly have her base in
Stockholm, Sweden.

“With Ms. Sharma’s extensive knowledge of sustainable development

within civil society groups, corporate world and governmental experience
she becomes the perfect combination to be both a trustworthy
spokesperson and a strong strategist. Moreover, with her background in
the South Asian region we see no other person who could strengthen
PVCHR’s climate justice work the way Parul Sharma can,” says Dr.
Lenin Raghuvanshi the founder and Executive President of PVCHR.
“This is the time to act for climate justice and with my devotion for the
region and the will and wish to speed up the justice part of things, it was
very hard for me to say nothing else but yes to this opportunity. I have
worked and known PVCHR since many years now, and it is a genuine
people’s movement with ears towards the grassroots, which is important
for finding solutions”, says Parul Sharma.

Ms. Parul Sharma will join on the 1st of February 2020.

Signed with great pleasure,

Dr. Lenin Raghuvanshi.
