Twitter is a social media site that enables people to connect with one another. Twitter can be

used for employees to discuss topics on a bigger scale. The social media site is a great way for

employees to connect with one another if used appropriately. Example of appropriate uses of

Twitter include sharing content and ideas, expressing ways to improve ideas and work ethic, and

also creating a comfortable environment for employees to engage with each other.

Now let’s go more in-depth about the technicalities of Twitter. A great way to instructionally

use twitter is through hashtags. (Insert a hashtag image for clarity). Twitter is a site that it used

by millions of people worldwide, so if you are an average twitter user, you will find it difficult to

group your peer’s tweets in one place so you can connect with them. A great way to solve that
issue is through hashtags. You and your coworkers can decide on a hashtag to use such as

“#HRDteam” which will make it exceptionally easier for you to communicate with your group

just by searching the hashtag and discovering all tweets that include it. There is also a feature on

twitter where you can be a member of a “list”. This can be used to easily find coworkers after

being added.

LinkedIn is an employment oriented service that operates through websites and mobile sites. The

site allows you to access important articles and posts that you might find useful and relevant to

your life. The site is also heavily used for researching companies and industries, finding and

applying to jobs, and building a strong professional network.

LinkedIn allows employees to network with numerous people in there same field of work. For

example, whenever a luncheon is held with a different company, employees just need to give the

new individuals they meet a business card with their LinkedIn username. It’s almost like a

Facebook page but for work purposes, it allows business partners to share ideas and tips that will

lead to success. This social media site certainly interconnects the workforce as a whole.

why not incorporate it into our work life? (Insert “1” word art) It encourages teammates to

converse and get to know each other on more than just a professional level. When you give

employees a chance to actually get to know the people they are working with, it can create a

more smooth and fluent work community. (Insert “2” word art) With big companies, it is nearly

impossible to know everybody you work with. Using social media could bridge a lot of gaps

created by numerous departments. You never know what kind of problems lie in the future, so it

wouldn’t hurt to have all employees mingle every once in a while. (Insert “3” word art) Job tasks

can be easily posted, shared and revisited when using social media. Since everyone is connected,

VOICEOVER

There are several cons to allowing the use of Social Media in the workforce. If it is not used in

the right ways it can cause distractions that will lead to unproductivity and loss for a company.

Humans will be humans if they see the opportunity to use social media for personal use they will

take it. The company’s reputation may be impacted if employees post inappropriate or rude

statuses in their accounts, it may lead to conflicts with business partners. It's important to make it
clear to all employees what they are allowed to do on social media platforms, and to make a

separate work account if need be.
