Reflection:

This post-test reflected Kevin’s progress very well. While for the last lesson, we focused a bit

more on the actual pieces he was playing, beforehand, we spent the majority of the two lessons

we had only working on buzzing technique and developing proficiency in that area. The post-

test showed that he felt much more comfortable with those topics for the most part, although, due

to the fact that he is not a brass player, there was not complete confidence and proficiency in all

areas. The area that proved to be Kevin’s weak point was in his upper range. While sometimes

this is fine, it was generally hit or miss. The post-test gave me some more confidence in my

teaching ability, seeing how progression can be made over a long period of time rather than only

small teaching opportunities.
