Domain 1:
Planning &
Preparation
Throughout my planning and preparation, | am
able to demonstrate my knowledge of the content
and pedagogy. Additionally, throughout creating
my lessons, | am able to set appropriate
instructional outcomes for all students to ensure
healthy growth and development. Furthermore, |
am able to demonstrate my knowledge of the
students by creating equitable lessons by
incorporating diverse resources. Also, throughout
my planning and preparation, | have had the
opportunity to be able to design coherent
instruction that allows students to explore,
discover, and investigate.

The Classroom
Environment
Within my field placement classroom, [have been
able to help create an environment of respect and
rapport with the students and my mentor teacher.
Furthermore, we (my mentor teacher and |) have
been able to establish a culture for learning and
‘education. We are also able to practice effective
classroom management and allow students to
participate in and promote appropriate classroom
procedures and student behavior. Within the
classroom, my mentor teacher and I have also
been able to create and organize the physicalspace to motivate and maximize learning for all
students.

Instruction
When delivering instruction, 1am able to
effectively communicate with students to engage
them in learning and discussion. Throughout
delivering my lessons, | am also able to be
flexible and responsive to the students’ diverse
needs. As | know lessons do not always go as
planned and may need to be improvised on the
spot depending on the student's engagement and

end of each lesson to ensure student growth and
development. Additionally, throughout my time at
the field placement school, | have been able to

Back-to-School Night and everyday Pick-Up since
our school is in a walking district. | have also been
able to participate in the professional community
by attending meetings, trainings, and school
events. Furthermore, by participating in these
meetings, trainings, and school events, | have
been able to continue to grow and develop

Two short-term professional goals | have set for mysolf include (goals you hope to
accomplish in the next six weeks):
* One short-term professional goal that | have set for myself is to include higher-order
thinking questions within my lessons to encourage greater thinking from students. I want
students to understand the purpose of what, why, and how they are learning so it
beneficial to them now and in the future
+ Another short-term professional goal that | set for myself is to include more quick
assessments throughout my lessons to ensure reflective growth. Implementing
assessments within the lessons will allow me to understand if students are
understanding the lesson and if | may need to adjust my lessons for any specific
students’ needs. in general, | want to ensure that my lessons are equitable and
responsive to all the diverse students and their development.
