GUIDELINES/MECHANICS & CRITERIA: SPELLING: (Guidelines) en we The contest is open to all Grades 4-6 pupils and High School students in both public and Private elementary and secondary schools in the division. Participants must wear their school uniform. Both coaches and participants must be at the venue at least 30 minutes before the start of the contest for the briefing/reminders and giving of words to the committee. Contestants shall bring tag board (4"x12") and chalk board for the contest. The contest shall be facilitated by a committee composed of the following: a) arbiter; b) Bee Master; c) Time Keeper; d) 2 Checkers; ¢) Tabulator The American Heritage Dictionary shall the used as the official reference. Each coach shall contribute 10 words for the first round or easy level. Only the coach of the qualified contestants shall contribute 10 words for the ‘succeeding round/s. Contributed words shall bear the part of speech, correct pronunciation and definition. And it shall be used in the sentence. MECHANICS: ‘The contest is done in 3 rounds: easy, average, and difficult. There shall be ten words for every round, The Bee Master must give the correct pronunciation of the word, including its part of speech, definition. It shall be used in the sentence. The word is read twice, For time allotment: easy round — S seconds / word average round ~7 seconds / word difficult round ~ 10 seconds / word The contest shall follow elimination system. There shall be only one (1) contestant for every school in the district per level (Elem. & HS). The first place winner shall represent the district to the sub congressional level contest. The three highest scorers will qualify to the congressional level contest, And finally to qualify 0 the division level, the top two winners will vie for the championship rounds. In the division level, after the 3 round of competition, the highest scorers shall be declared first, second and third respectively. The first place winner in the district competition shall represent to the sub congressional level. And the first place winner in the sub congressional level will vie for the congressional level. The top 2 winners shall represent the CD to the division level competition. 3.. The piece must be original. (unpublished, bears the name and address, and position/designation of the author) Our education is the focus of the piece. Violation thereof sball outright be disqualified. 4, The delivery shall not exceed 7 minutes and must refrain from using slanderous or libelous statements. Every 10 seconds in excess shall mean 1point deduction. 5. Appropriate attire must be observed by the contestants, 3-piece attire for women (biouse/shirt, overcoat, ard paits/shirt). 2-piece attire for men (collared shirt and slacks, demin pants are not allowed) 6. Contestants must arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes before the competition for the drawing of lots. 7. Coaches should submit 4 copies of the contest piece to the committee (district, sub cong., cong., & division) before the contest proper. 8. The committee must strictly adhere to the following qualifications in the selection of the judges: 8) exposed to public speaking; trainings related to speech/publie speaking b) English major or related courses. 9. Villalon ‘The contest is open to all public and private elementary pupils in the division of Bohol. Members of the choir shall be at least Grade 4 pupils who are currently enrolled in the school. The participating school shall choose its own piece, and the encoded copy shall be submitted the committee for the judges. ‘The suttiber of participants of this competition shall be a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 25 members. A minimum of $ mimutes and a maximum of 7 minutes performance including the entrance and exit shall be applied. AI point deduction shall be made for every 30-second excess during the performance. There are 3 winners (groups) to be declared, however only the first place winner shall advance to the next higher level of competition until the finals in the division level. ‘The chosen piece by the group in their performance shall be used in the entire competitions. ‘There shall be no substitution or change of piece. Violation would mean disqualification. Attire should be appropriate to the piece. 4. Coaches should provide 4 copies of the piece to the board of judges. 5. Ranking system shall be used in determining the winners. 6. The contest is open to all public and private secondary school students in the division of Bohol 2. The participants/group shall be composed of 20 to 25 students. 3. Each group shall be given the choice to select its contest piece. 4, The time element of the contest shall be 3 ~ § minutes. 5. The fist syllable/word uttered signals the start of the performance, and the last syllable/word determines the end of the performance. 6. The contest follows the elimination starting from the district up to the congressional level. The first place winner of the congressional level shall advance to the finals in the division competition. Ranking system shall be used in determining the winners.
