The movie "12 Years a Slave is about the history of discrimination of black people. The
movie tells the nightmarish story of the enslavement of solomon Northup, a freeman of
colour living and working in New York. 12 Years a slave is the reset button in cinematic
treatments of slavery.
Masaya ang may Palabas vs. Masaya ang may Palabas na may Laman
In Philippines, most of the movie depends on the popularity of the actors and actresses.
The important in Filipino movie is they can release a movie with those popular actors and
actresses. If we will analyze, the movie will be popular and got a high ratings because of
the actor and actresses but it has no sense. Yes we laugh, but we don't appreciate. In the
movie "12 Years a Slave, we laugh, we cry, we feel different emotions because we
entertain and we appreciate because the movie made by a reason. It has the sense that the
movie will not just make you laugh, but to take you behind the meaning of the movie.
Mabuti ang Inaapi vs. Mabuti ang may Sariling Isip at Gulugod
In Filipino movies, the actors and actresses become popular because of his/her pathetic
role. The actor and actresses need to be pathetic to make the viewers appreciate their role.
Even they know that they can fight, they didn't because they all know that this is
important as actor and actresses. In American movie particularly the 12 Years a Slave,
actor and actresses in the movie specifically the protagonist, he act as a appropiate role in
the movie. He fight for his own right. Although all movies are scripted, it is important to
have a good sequence or flow of movie. It will appreciate by the viewers.
Reaction
"12 Years a slave" strikes as a emotional movie for me. I am always amazed on American
movie because the movies that they released all the time is interesting to watch because
of the twist it has. The effects are believable. In terms of the casts and the story is all
about, I amazed to the main character, Solomon, because he documented from his
experienced that being a black person is not surely to be like a slave. I felt anger because
legacies of slavery are still very much with us today. I felt anger because enslaved people
were treated as objects and not humans.
