In my classroom I created for Pre-k, I chose to carefully when placing all of my centers

throughout my classroom. I started with choosing my literacy area. I chose to place this off by

itself so this area could remain a silent area for students be able to practice their reading. I then

started placing my dramatic play and math/science/discovery area on the other side of the

room. I wanted to make sure the dramatic play center was in a corner so students could have

the opportunity to role play which can involve quite a bit of talking. Then, I placed my computer

area close to my literacy area because, I would like this area to be semi quiet as well while the

students are expected to do individual activities on the computers. My motor skill center is

placed by the dramatic play because I want to students to be able to work on their fine and

gross motors which needs a more open space and will involve doing activities together. My

whole group area was placed near the back of the room with a colorful carpet so the students

can each get their own square to sit on while listening to the teacher. Then, I chose to place my

small group area in the middle of my math/science and dramatic play because I know there will

be some group discussions that will need to be conducted at this table. Lastly, I chose to place

my desk in the corner of the room at an angle so I can have full vision of all the centers while at

my desk if I am multitasking.
