LOCAL ART GALLERY OFFERS “PAINT AND WINE” NIGHTS IN MARBLEHEAD

On the second and fourth Fridays of every month, indulge in wine while learning the art of oil painting.

MARBLEHEAD, Mass. – A local art studio called Acorn Gallery has its own version of the popular “paint bar”
that can be found all over the country: For a flat fee of $45, anyone can come in to the studio starting at 7 p.m. to
sip wine and learn how to paint from Debra Freeman Highberger.
If you have ever wanted to try your hand at the fine arts, this is the perfect opportunity. Adults of any
age over 21 are welcome to drop in for the paint and wine nights. No matter what your skill level is, Highberger
will guide you on your journey to creating a masterpiece. Having been a painter for almost 40 years, Highberger
has mastered the skill of rendering lights and shadows and creating the perfect illusion of depth.
“The paint and wine nights are a great way for adults of all ages to get together, have some wine, and
just have a good time,” said Highberger. “Unlike other paint bars where you follow along with the instructor, I
encourage people to paint anything they want and then I’ll help them along the way.”
In addition to the paint and wine nights, Highberger also teaches after school classes and summer
programs for children beginning at age 5 and continuing through high school. For more than 20 years, the
Acorn Gallery School of Art has been helping children develop their artistic talents. Highberger hopes that the
paint and wine nights will draw in people from all over the North Shore who are interested in the therapeutic
benefits of painting.
