Seven theories for seven community developers:

This theory states that social relationships can be consider as a resource

that can lead to the development and accumulation of human capital. This
includes trust, friendship, and etc. Social capital emphasizes commonality to
strengthen communities.

In our barangay, we have an association for the youth govern by the SK.
It is another way for the youth in our barangay to get closer to each other. During
holidays we do activities such as gift giving for the children, Christmas parties,
and others. That’s why as we grow old, we are more closer to each other and
that kind of relationship is what we pass on to the next generation of youths in
our barangay.
 Functionalism

Functionalism, also known as structural functionalism or also called as

systems theory or equilibrium theory asserts that interrelated part of society
(social institutions/organizations) work together to create the society and on how
the society is able to remain stable.

 Conflict Theory

Conflict theory suggests that in every field, there will be a conflict because
individuals appear to be naturally driven to protect their own interests, while
overlooking the impact that it may have on the opposing group or party.

 Symbolic Interactionism

This perspective relies on the symbolic meaning that people share and
build upon in the process of social interaction.

 Communicative Action Theory

The Communicative Action Theory suggests that language plays the role
of coordinating the goal-directed activities of different subjects, as well as the role
of a medium in the socialization of these very subjects. Also it asserts that
communication should be unfiltered and inclusive with the use of public
representation.

 Rational Choice Theory

Rational Choice Theory is a framework for understanding and often

formally modelling social and economic behavior.
 Gidden’s Structuration Theory

the theory that human behavior is based on structure (or rules and
resources) and agency (to human action).
