ACADEMIC PROJECT
Identification of abnormal beats using time frequency analysis techniques via
Instantaneous frequency estimation.
• Overview of my project is to detect the beats (disease) present in the ECG signal. First
we should take the ‘R’ peak locations from the annotation file present in the Database.
Then using R peak location we have calculated Q peak location .Now taking Q peak as a
reference we have calculated Q onset value now by taking the window of size R-350ms
to Q onset we have located the P peak.
• Then by using P-P locations as a reference points for the input signal we have calculated
the Short time Fourier transform and Instantaneous frequency for whole signal.
• Then we have calculated some higher order Statistical features for Classifying of the
signal, Classifier used here is K-Nearest Neighbours Classifier.
• Here total of 44 records have been taken from MIT-BIH database.For training 22 records
and for testing 22 records have been taken.
