1. Today, I offer my gratitude for my parents who have always worked hard and gave their
2. “Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, that
your days may be prolonged and that it may go well with you on the land which the
3. Ever since the time of Adam and Eve, we have always knew that an honest and
irrepressible respect should be given to our parents. A respect made from love and
reverence, rather than from fear. While we might think that we must do this because it is
what our lord God has commanded us, the reality is that he wanted us to give our utmost
respect because he knew that our parents are ready to guide us, protect us, and even
sacrifice their lives so that we may live a better life. This assurance has been proven
throughout the bible, with Jesus Christ being the very testament of how our fathers (and
mothers) would not let us suffer. This simply means that, in return, we must do our best
in order to give our respect towards them or even recognize all the hardships that they’ve
4. Lord, we thank you for everything that you have given us. The food, the shelter, and the
love amongst all the other things that we experience daily in our lives. However, this day,
we would want to like to give our sincerest gratitude for all of our parents who have
given their very best and lifted us through thick and thin. Just as you’ve said to us, that
we must respect our parents so that our days may be prolonged and that we could enjoy
your gift of an eternal life with them, we would like to ask you to guide us, not only to be
a better sons and daughters, but also to become a good parent in the future. Let us learn
from our parents examples, so that in turn, we could also teach others about your
teachings which have been embodied in the values and principles that our parents have
thought us. All in all, we would like to thank you again for having a wonderful people
like them. We all say this in the sweet name of our lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
