Pedagogy
The students will be assigned a partner. Within the pairs, the
student will decide who will be flipping the quarter and who
will be recording the data. The one who is recording the data
will make two columns on their paper, labeled heads and tails.
The other student will flip the quarter. The recorder will then
make a tally mark under the correct column. The pair will
repeat those steps until they have flipped the quarter 20 times.
Then, the students will use the tool Chartify to make a bar
graph to display the data they collected. They will give the
chart a title, label the columns, enter the numbers, and put
their names on it. After all the students have finished making
their bar graphs, the students will be able to share their results
and bar graphs with the whole classroom.
