Drop Quiz + Three Letter Blends T236
Tell students that a three letter blend is made up of three
consonants at the beginning of the word. Write scrap on the board.
Underline scr and explain that this is a three letter blend that makes
the sound /skr/ as in scrap.
Model: explain that other common three letter blends are str as in
stream, spr as in spring, squ as in squash, and thr as in three. Write
the words on the board and model identifying the three letter blend
and then blending the sounds to pronounce each word.
