ABSTRACT

Everyone cannot predict when or where an emergency can occur. Seafarer should

learn first aid procedures for a specific injury onboard ship for them to be

prepared if there will be an injury in their working place. It is also important that

seafarers have the knowledge in life-saving because of the limitations for the

sources of medicines and other cures for illnesses and injuries onboard ship.

They should be prepared for emergencies they are going to meet in the future.

Student and future seafarers should have the knowledge too because first aid is

applicable in their future chosen careers. These fatal damages and sometimes

death due to injuries onboard ship can be prevented if seafarers have the

knowledge about First Aid.
