Thomas Suarez and Me

In his talk Thomas Suarez talks about teaching himself how to code and program and the support

he got from his family and teachers at school while working on creating an application for his

phone. I think its good for younger children to start learning coding and programing early. The

younger students interested in these fields will only help to create new ways for kids to learn.

When I was young there was no easy way to self-teach coding and programing especially as a

young student. One thing I know a lot about is cooking, after spending almost 15 years in

kitchens I’ve picked up little skills and tricks that most people would not know. One skill that

often comes in hand and is often overlooked until the holiday season is knowing how to carve

and serve a turkey. Every year my family looks to me to help with the presentation of the holiday

tables because of my background in professional kitchens.
