Review – Subject as aforesaid, any person considering himself aggrieved-

 By a decree or order from which an appeal is allowed by this Code, but from which no appeal
has been preferred,

 By a decree or order from which no appeal is allowed by this Code, or

 By a decision on a reference from a Court of Small Causes,

may apply for a review of judgment to the Court which passes the decree or made the
order, and the Court may make such order thereon as it thinks fit.”

 Exception to the general rule that a judgment is functus officio. Judicial


reexamination by same judge same court.
 When appeal filed after review and decided, review becomes infructuous. Review
granted before appeal disposed then appeal will not remain.
 Grounds: 1. Discovery of new or important evidence. 2. Mistake or error apparent on
the face of the record. 3. Any other sufficient reason.
