 INTRODUCCION

This activity summarizes all task done during the course development. The student
should review all previous tasks in order to do the following activities:
Consolidate in a table of excel the survey conducted in step 1, then make a graph
with the data and make an analysis, then make a 2 or 3 minutes video explaining
how to promote digital transformation in medium-sized companies in Colombia,
finally each student makes a conclusion about the importance of industrial
engineering to understand the valuation an negotiation of technology and translate
then in a chart.
 OBJETIVES

 The student is capable of developing a negotiation of technologic

assets from products, processes, and systems innovation, with the aim
of achieving the organization social and business goals.
 Identify how we can promote digital transformation in Colombian
companies.

Problem Question ¿How to promote digital transformation
in Colombian enterprises?
Problem description Digital transformation is the process by
which organizations change their
culture and structure to execute their
processes more efficiently, using
technological tools.

The main axis of the digital

transformation goes beyond
technology; Its value lies in the
paradigm shift and the reorganization
of the teams within the companies to
adapt to the current demands.

We can start with this transformation

by offering training programs to
companies that do not have access to
these tools so that they can see the
benefits and help them in the process
of changing from the rustic to the
technological.

According to DANE in Colombia, 98%

of entrepreneurs find it important to
stimulate the use of digital technologies
in their companies.

These companies that are already

digitally transformed or find it
interesting should help those who are
not through their experiences of
change that they have had since they
decided to take advantage of this
digital revolution.

Technology has become a
fundamental part of world
development. Technological giants like
Google, Facebook have been
developing products and services that
help the human being in daily life.
However, this technological
transformation has different faces, on
the one hand it is important that
companies develop technologically
because this allows them to save costs
for example a machine can easily do
the work of 20 people, which takes us
to the other side, these 20 people that
the machine replaces are dismissed
what raises the unemployment
indicators, even so the development
continues and we must learn to deal
with it
In Colombia, a large number of
companies have already materialized
great advances in digitalization, both
as initiatives of the private sector, by
the hand of public initiatives, or by legal
regulations and mandatory regulatory
processes, achieving a significant
increase in digital transformation at the
country level. According to the recent
survey of Digital Transformation of the
National Association of Entrepreneurs
(NAOE), entrepreneurs said that the
priorities when investing in
technologies are mainly the automation

of processes by 82.8 percent and cost
reduction by 57.8 percent. Therefore,
this 2018 has led technology
companies to reinvent themselves, not
only in their solutions that must be
much more specialized, but in the
creation of commercial offers that allow
entrepreneurs to have options to move

Industrial engineering is intimately with
technology, therefore it is valid to say
that engineering science and
technology are three fundamental
supports that make our lives easier. It
can also be said that without
technological advances productive
processes would be stagnant and in
the primitive stage. In addition, the
advances that have been made in
modern industry such as the
automation of a production system that
is nothing more than orders to a
machine through programming so that
it does what it is ordered repeatedly
saving us the fatigue of employees,
increasing production and generating
less costs.

Conclusion
Industrial engineering is intimately
with technology, therefore it is
valid to say that engineering
science and technology are three
fundamental supports that make
our lives easier. It can also be
said that without technological
advances productive processes
would be stagnant and in the
primitive stage. In addition, the
advances that have been made in
modern industry such as the
automation of a production
system that is nothing more than
orders to a machine through
programming so that it does what
it is ordered repeatedly saving us
the fatigue of employees,
increasing production and
generating less costs.
Industrial engineers have a
fundamental role in this
transformation or revolution. First,
because they are professionals
permanently linked to innovation
and change management, but
above all because of our
commitment to the continuous
improvement of the processes
that we generate as we generate
for the best performance of the
