INTRODUCTION :

What can be defined as sex education? Sex education is about a high

quality teaching and learning process that is closely related to a wide range of
issues related to sex and sexuality, identifying values and beliefs on issues and
how to acquire the skills needed to explore relationships and how to manage your
own sexual health . In the current state of modernization, children need to be
exposed to more knowledge and facts about sex education from the very
beginning. Often, they will get all the information they need from their home and
their parents, but schools should also play their part by being a source of
important information to suit their age. In fact, there is no safe sex where all sex
is at risk of negative outcomes because nothing removes the possibility of any
possible negative consequences. Therefore, it is very important to demand
comprehensive sex education to be taught to children. There are several reasons
why it is necessary to carry out sex education at an early age.

PARAGRAPH 1 (MAIN POINT) :

As parents, they should know about sex education. Sex education does not
encourage children to have sex either. Kids will gather all the information from
sex education. Sex education is required to be implemented at an early age so that
children can be exposed to sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). First, when
children have information and knowledge, they may find that if they have unsafe
sex, they may be at risk for various diseases such as STI and HIV. It can also lead
to unwanted pregnancies (Population Health Center, 2013). Furthermore, when
children are exposed, they find that people who have sex without appropriate
condoms are at higher risk for various types of sexually transmitted diseases (The
Nemours Foundation, 2015). They must understand the consequences they will

face if there is a misunderstanding about sex. There are many types of diseases
that can be transmitted through skin contact, including herpes, chlamydia, genital
warts, vaginitis, hepatitis virus and HIV (State of New York, Department of
Health). Sometimes, children are more likely to adopt an unacceptable attitude to
other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Sometimes they are more
comfortable treating themselves without the proper means. In addition, there are
cases where some girls have sex for financial reasons, and at the same time they
are at high risk for copying and transmitting other HIV and STDs. They are also
exposed to physical and social elements that may affect their health, have
repeated illnesses and infections that are inadequate and use recreational drugs
(Anarfi JK, 1997). Therefore, it shows that sex education at a young age can
expose children to the correct information about sexually transmitted diseases.

PARAGRAPH 2 (MAIN POINT) :

Another reason why the need for sex education is taught at an early age is
due to unwanted or unwanted pregnancy problems, abortion, abortion, which can
lead to serious long-term health effects and maternal death. First, unmarried
adolescents have bizarre issues such as violence, discrimination, and at the same
time inflict psycho-social pressure on them (bioline.org.br). This is also a phase
in life marked by vulnerability to risky sexual behaviors and worse reproductive
health outcomes such as premarital sex, unwanted pregnancies, sexually
transmitted diseases (STDs) such as HIV / AIDS, mental stress and social
violence. In addition, about 1.7 million pregnant teenage girls lost their lives due
to pregnancy-related complications. In addition, cases of abortion are epidemic
in Malaysia especially when children and adolescents are underage. Some of
them do not know what sex can do to them (Shayana, 2018). Abortion can lead
to high infant mortality due to inadequate medical care. Parents of teenagers who
abandon their responsibility to leave the baby cause the death of the child may

result in them being tried in court on charges of intentional homicide and

deserving of death. In addition, an 8-year-old boy shares how his friends call him
'Rape' at school (Shayana, 2018). At the age of 8, they are able to demonstrate
more sophisticated and social interactions that affect their relationships with their
peers. Therefore, it is important for teachers and parents to encourage children's
physical activity to discuss health, and to help them find more activities for
developmental health and to create awareness for sex education as well. Finally,
adolescents face unplanned pregnancies and opt for abortion for the same reason
as women in their twenties and thirties (Linda Lowen, 2019). This is because
most of them are not ready to have a baby at an age or maturity due to financial
problems and have to carry heavy responsibilities.

PARAGRAPH 3 (MAIN POINT) :

Sexual abuse amongst children is also one of most neglected social

problem faced by people nowadays. Child ability to express discomfort with
sexual harassment is limited. They failed to raise their voice when it comes to
sexual harassment. We need to instill awareness for children to fight against
sexual harassment. There are several steps you can take to instill precaution
against sexual harassment, such as guide kids to respect their own boundaries,
understand other people’s boundaries and have conversation with children about
respect and concern (Intermountain healthcare, 2019). It is important for children
to understand that each relationship must have boundaries and they must know
the limits they need to follow in order to defend themselves. Make safety plan.
Teach them to listen their “uh-oh” gut feeling. Tell them if someone is hurting
their body or making them feel uncomfortable they can say NO in a loud, clear
voice with authority. Teach them to resist by yelling, screaming and getting away
from the situation (Intermountain healthcare, 2019). It is important for children
to have the courage to speak up. Sometimes they feel adults fail to understand

their voice. Next, as an adults it is a must for them to be a comfortable place for
children to tell their unreaveled story. Wrongdoer always use secret-keeping to
manipulate children feelings. We must always let children know they can always
rely on us. If there is any discomfort feeling to express, just let us know. If they
see someone touching another kids, they should not keep this to themselves
(Rainn, 2019). There is research showing that eight percent of primary school
students have been forced to have intercourse, while one in ten students say they
have committed sexual violence. Better understanding of sex education let young
people know what constitutes sexual violence and how to ask for help if they
have been assaulted (Advocates for youth, 2014). Therefore, it is clear that as an
adult it is important to instill awareness and make children understand they also
have the right to speak when they are disturbed.

CONCLUSION :

In conclusion, children need good and accurate information and must go

through the proper sources of sex, as well as a variety of other closely related
issues to help the child make the right decision for their future. Implementing sex
education at a young age will be able to provide them properly. Early childhood
sex education is essential to be an important medium for exposing children to the
dangers of sexually transmitted diseases, reducing and preventing unwanted
pregnancies and helpful information while instilling awareness in the child to
fight sexual abuse. We must be aware of the importance of sex education at an
early age. This is to ensure that our children of our future generations are prepared
to withstand all the unexpected obstacles to their future.
