GRAIN PROCESSING MACHINES

Grains take major part in food consumption, and are grown all over the world. Production of food grains
and processing of them has become a widespread business and several machine tools and technologies
are used in these industries. Implementing modern processing machineries in these sector leads to
increased productivity, improved grain quality and eases the production process.

The grains processing machines are designed to process several food grains such as paddy, wheat,
maize, corn, sunflower seeds and many other cereals. The grain processing involves various stages such
as cleaning, grading, drying, de-husking, polishing and packaging.

The cleaning process of the grain is done through a series of equipment such as screening separator,
aspirator, disc separator, scourer, magnetic separator, de-stoner etc. The screening separator removes
sticks, stones and fine materials from the grains. Then grain is transferred to the aspirator where the
lighter impurities are displaced in an air stream. The disc separator removes cockles and other foreign
materials. Then the grain is fed to a scourer where the beaters remove impurities and roughages. Then a
magnetic separator chamber where it removes the metal impurities. Then finally a de-stoner removes
the stones from the grain.

Then the grains are tempered by soaking in water by which, the bran gets tougher and endosperm gets
softer making it easier for milling. Before milling, grains is fed into entoleter where a high impact vortex
machine breaks and removes fungus infected kernels.

Then cleaned conditioned grain is now fed into a break roll and then to a sieve where the bran and husk
is removed and the de-husked grain particle are fed to a reducing roll for secondary breaking process.
The output of the reducing roll is obtained as a fine flour or polished grains eligible for cooking. Then
the grains are weighted and packed as per market requirement.
